National Finals, Santa Pod Raceway
2nd October 2005
I was not able to visit the National Finals for the whole weekend and, in fact, I feared I wouldn’t even be able to make it on Sunday, either, as it hailed the anniversary of Mrs. Topnitro’s birthday. However, she didn’t want me cluttering the place up and gave me a free exit visa for the day. What a girl!
Anyway, it turned out to be a wee bit of a disappointment for me, photography-wise. It seemed I chose precisely the wrong place to be at the wrong time of the day, so the gallery is not quite up to what I would normally like. I did get Roel Koedam on the 6.07 run which makes an interesting sequence taken, perched on the steep-ish spectator banking at around 1200 feet.
All in all, the racing was quite good and more importantly, the weather on the Sunday was bright and dry. It was good to see rookie racer Tethys go rounds and to have his first Pro-ET semi-final, just as it was to see Paul Spiers make it to his first Super Street final.
The gallery has a bit of something for everyone; hope you enjoy it and come back soon.
